مخارج الحروف Arabic Letters Articulation Points
We have seven articulation points for the Arabic letters:
1- الْجَوف : وفيه مخرج حروف المد الثلاثة ( ا- و- ي)
The empty space in the mouth and throat
The long vowels letters (ا و ي)
2- الحلق The Throat
أقصى الحلق ء- ه The deepest part, the farthest from the mouth
وسط الحلق ع- ح The middle of the throat
أدنـى الحلق غ- خ The closest to the mouth
3- اللسان The Tongue
أقصى اللسان (ق – ك) The deepest part of the tongue
وسط اللسان (ج- ش- ي اليا) غير المديةtongue Middle of
حافة اللسان (ض- ل) The side or edge of the tongue
طرف اللسان (ن – ر) Tip of the tongue
(ط – د – ت -ص – ز – س ) ( ظ – ذ – ث)
4- الشفتان : (ف- ب – م – و( الواو غير المدية The two lips
5- الخيشوم: الغُنَّة The nasal hole
The Arabic language is distinguished as a noble language; This is because some of its letters are characterized by the tafkheem; the heavy sounds of few letters, which means elevating the tongue to the top of the palate when pronouncing them. The letters of the tafkheem are: الخا خ ، الصَّاد ص، الضَّاد ض ، الغَين غ ، الطَّا ط ، القاف ق ، الظَّا ظ
